Bihar’s main opposition party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of promoting a communal agenda during his recent visit to the Seemanchal region. RJD MLA from Maner, Bhai Virendra, claimed that Shah’s visits fuel communal tension and aim to strengthen divisive forces, targeting a specific community. Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav also criticized Shah’s visit as politically motivated, linking it to the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal.
The ruling coalition defended Shah against the allegations. Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) MLA Madhav Anand dismissed the criticism, stating that opposition leaders become uneasy whenever the Home Minister visits Bihar. Anand described Shah as the “Iron Man” who reviews development work and discusses Bihar’s progress during his visits. BJP leader and Bihar minister Lakhendra Paswan emphasized that Shah’s focus is on national security and preventing infiltration.
During his visit, Amit Shah inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various infrastructure projects of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Border Outposts in Araria district. The projects underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing border management and security infrastructure in the region.
