Amid concerns about women’s safety in Patna, Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, has criticized the Nitish Kumar government. She questioned the government’s governance claims and the state’s law and order situation. Rohini urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to halt his ongoing “Samriddhi Yatra” and evaluate the actual situation in Bihar. Her comments have heightened the political tension in the state.
In a social media post, Rohini highlighted the frequent incidents of daughters falling victim to rapists under the current administration. She specifically mentioned recent cases at women’s hostels, including the one at Shambhu Girls Hostel and Perfect Girls Hostel in Patna. Rohini expressed concern over the safety of women in Bihar, asking if the state, known as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, is no longer secure for mothers, sisters, and daughters.
The opposition is expected to engage in a heated debate with the ruling party following Rohini Acharya’s statements. Criticism against the government has escalated, particularly regarding the safety of girls’ hostels in Patna. Calls for stricter monitoring and improved surveillance of hostels across the city have been growing. Recent incidents at Shambhu Girls Hostel and Perfect Girls Hostel have raised public alarm, with demands for enhanced safety measures.
Family members of a NEET aspirant residing at Perfect Girls Hostel in Patna alleged suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
