Political activity has intensified for the Bankipur Assembly by-election as the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) officially named Tanveer Alam as its candidate. Alam received the party’s election symbol from RLJP’s National Working President, Prince Paswan, at a meeting in Patna. Paswan wished Alam success and emphasized the candidate’s commitment to public service and development.
Alam expressed gratitude to RLJP leaders for their trust and pledged to focus on public service and development if elected. He believes in the voters of Bankipur supporting his vision for change and development in the constituency. RLJP leaders praised Alam as an active social worker with strong local connections, expecting his candidacy to energize the party’s campaign.
The Bankipur Assembly seat became vacant after BJP’s Nitin Nabin moved to the Rajya Sabha, leading to the upcoming by-election. Apart from RLJP’s nomination of Alam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has Abhishek Kumar Sinha as its candidate, Jan Suraaj has Prashant Kishor, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has Rekha Gupta. The by-election, scheduled for July 30, is set to be a competitive multi-cornered contest.
