A tragic road accident on National Highway-46 in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district resulted in the death of an elderly woman and left five other family members critically injured. The family, returning from a pilgrimage to the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain and Omkareshwar, met with the accident after their car crashed into a divider and plunged into a 40-foot-deep gorge.
The incident occurred as the car lost control, hit the highway divider, and fell into the gorge, causing the immediate death of Anita Agarwal. The remaining occupants, including Gopal Agarwal, Girdhar Agarwal, Shivanya Agarwal, Krishivi Agarwal, and Lokesh Dwivedi, suffered severe injuries. Local residents and police quickly responded, rescuing the victims and transporting them to the District Hospital in Guna for urgent medical attention.
Following the accident, Guna police initiated rescue and investigation operations, registering a case of accidental death. The authorities are actively probing the circumstances leading to the crash, while the community mourns the tragedy, deeply impacted by the loss suffered by the family returning from their religious journey.
