Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s all-rounder Nadine De Klerk expressed confidence after their eight-wicket victory against UP Warriorz, following two previous losses. De Klerk’s impressive performance, including a four-wicket haul with figures of 4-22, earned her the purple cap for the season with a total of 15 wickets. She credited Grace Harris, the player of the match, for crucial wickets that helped turn the game around.
“I had a good laugh on the boundary when I saw a warm-up. And it’s great to have so many options. Obviously, as involved as the whole tournament is, coming on and picking up two for 20 is a pretty good effort,” De Klerk mentioned in a video shared by WPL. She highlighted the team’s resilience in a challenging situation, emphasizing the importance of momentum heading into the Women’s Premier League 2026 final on February 5.
De Klerk commended the bowling unit’s collective effort and the variety of options available, which played a significant role in securing Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s place in the WPL final. “So, it’s great to get back to the winning ways; it’s great to contribute as well. As I said, I think we’ve been really good; our bowling unit has been really good over the course of this tournament,” she added, looking forward to the upcoming final.
Smriti Mandhana’s team concluded the group stage with an impressive record of six wins in eight matches, maintaining their position at the top of the points table throughout the season.
