Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of breaching a three-day ceasefire. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that Ukrainian forces committed over 16,000 violations of the ceasefire in the past 24 hours. In response, Russian forces launched retaliatory strikes against various targets, including rocket systems, artillery positions, and command posts.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, Ukrainian authorities stated that one person was killed and 15 others were injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces revealed that Russian forces carried out 60 attacks on Ukrainian positions on Sunday. The ceasefire was agreed upon for the Victory Day celebrations from Saturday to Monday.
Earlier this month, Russia declared a ceasefire from May 8 to May 10 to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, speaking at a summit, commented on Russia’s Victory Parade without military equipment, suggesting they fear drone surveillance over Red Square.
