As tensions rise in West Asia, Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict through negotiations. Alipov highlighted the impact of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz on global prices and stated that India has the autonomy to choose its oil suppliers, with Russia willing to provide oil support.
Alipov stressed the necessity for a peaceful resolution, stating that conflicts should cease promptly. When questioned about the duration of the war, he deferred the query to the US. Amid concerns about potential disruptions in the oil supply chain, Alipov reiterated Russia’s openness to supplying oil to India based on India’s decisions.
Russia previously criticized the US and Israel for an alleged unprovoked armed attack on Iran. The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed discussions between Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart regarding the need for a political and diplomatic solution. Lavrov condemned the attacks, emphasizing the importance of upholding international law and restoring stability through diplomatic means.
