S8UL Esports’ Gurashish Singh (Soul) and Prateek Bhaunt (B Haunt) have qualified to represent India at the Asian Games 2026 in Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6, respectively. They secured their spots by winning their categories at the National Esports Championships 2026 (NESC 2026), the official qualifying event for India’s esports team for the Games.
Gurashish Singh, known as Soul, previously represented India at the BRICS Esports Tournament 2025 and became the national champion in Tekken 8. On the other hand, B Haunt clinched top honors in Street Fighter 6, earning a place on Team India.
The Asian Games are scheduled to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. Esports will feature 11 titles at the event, showcasing its increasing significance in the continental sports arena since its debut as a demonstration sport at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang.
Soul and B Haunt’s qualification process precedes the Asian Games, where the Street Fighter, Tekken, and King of Fighters series will compete under the Competitive Martial Arts category, considered a single medal event. Both players expressed their excitement and determination to represent India on the continental stage.
