Sadanand Date, an IPS officer from the 1990 batch, has taken charge as the Maharashtra Director General of Police, succeeding Rashmi Shukla. Date, a key figure during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, was honoured with the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry for his bravery.
