Actress Sakshi Tanwar, known for her role as Parvati in the popular TV show “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii,” initially hesitated to accept the part. In an episode of “Koffee with Karan” alongside Smriti Irani, Sakshi confessed that she found it hard to relate to the character at first.
Despite her reservations, Sakshi turned down the offer from producer Ektaa Kapoor three times before eventually agreeing to play Parvati. She admitted to struggling to connect with the role and even contemplated excuses to decline it after her initial meeting with Ektaa.
During her conversation with Karan Johar, Sakshi revealed her initial doubts about the character and the numerous disagreements she had over portraying Parvati. She recalled the challenges she faced in accepting the role, despite feeling it was too idealistic.
The television series “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii” aired on StarPlus from October 16, 2000, to October 9, 2008. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, the show featured Sakshi Tanwar and Kiran Karmarkar as the lead couple, Parvati and Om Agarwal, respectively. The cast also included Ali Asgar, Anup Soni, and Shweta Kawatra/Achint Kaur in prominent roles.
