Samajwadi Party MP, Sanatan Pandey, criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for accusing previous state governments of allowing ‘namaz’ at the Hanuman Garhi temple. CM Yogi expressed concern over the incident, questioning the integrity of the viral video showing an artist dressed as Lord Hanuman during a BJP roadshow in Lucknow. The Chief Minister referenced a past event in 2003 when an attempt to offer ‘namaz’ at Hanuman Garhi was denied permission by local authorities.
Responding to CM Yogi’s remarks, SP MP Sanatan Pandey condemned the portrayal of Lord Hanuman during BJP National President Nitin Nabin’s visit. Pandey accused RSS and BJP leaders of disrespecting Hindu deities and faith. He criticized their actions as contradictory to their claimed understanding of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. Pandey emphasized the importance of respecting religious sentiments and criticized the alleged exploitation of faith for personal gain.
Supporting SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s views on unity, Pandey highlighted the inclusive nature of ‘Sanatan Dharma’. He emphasized that the essence of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ promotes social harmony and unity among diverse communities. Pandey praised the Brahmin community for its contributions to upholding the principles of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and breaking down caste barriers.
In addition, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad denounced CM Yogi’s focus on personal image rather than developmental issues. Prasad criticized the Chief Minister for making what he deemed as unfounded statements and diverting attention from crucial matters such as infrastructure and healthcare.
