Deepa Academy Bengaluru will face JSB Ramanagara, and Samarthanam Bengaluru will play against Asha Kirana Chikkaballapura in the semifinals of the Samarthanam Cup 2026 – Karnataka Men’s Cricket Tournament for the Blind in Bengaluru on Friday.
The winners of these matches will compete in the final match scheduled for later in the day. The champion team will be awarded a cash prize of ₹31,000 along with a trophy, while the runners-up will receive ₹21,000 and a trophy. Other participating teams will each get a participation prize of ₹10,000.
This tournament also serves as a platform to discover talented visually impaired cricketers for potential state and national-level coaching camps. The event progressed to the Knockout Stage following the initial rounds in Bengaluru that concluded on Wednesday. It aims to promote inclusive sports and support visually impaired cricketers across the state.
The Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled organized this event, inaugurated on May 12 at the Ramu Sports Arena by Dr. Mahantesh G K, Founder and Managing Trustee, in the presence of members from the Karnataka Cricket Association for the Blind (KCAB). Eight teams from various districts of Karnataka are participating in this 10-over tournament. After three days of league-stage matches with 12 competitive games, the tournament has now entered the knockout stage.
The Samarthanam Cup 2026 – Karnataka Men’s Cricket Tournament for the Blind is being conducted by the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and is endorsed by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). Samarthanam Trust for the disabled, through CABI, aims to offer this unique opportunity to visually impaired individuals. Additionally, sports provide employment opportunities for individuals with visual impairments, physical disabilities, and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
