Samrat Choudhary visited former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence on Circular Road, a day after the Bihar Cabinet expansion. The meeting, lasting around 30 minutes, is seen as politically significant post the portfolio allocation in the NDA government.
The discussion between Choudhary and Kumar is believed to have covered ministerial portfolios, NDA alliance coordination, new Cabinet priorities, and broader political developments in Bihar. Notably, the recent Cabinet expansion included key roles for JD(U) leaders, with Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar appointed as the Health Minister.
Following the meeting, an interesting encounter occurred outside Kumar’s residence as Choudhary was leaving and Union Minister Lalan Singh was arriving. Singh’s convoy had to pause as Choudhary’s motorcade was exiting. The two leaders exchanged greetings at the gate before continuing on their separate ways.
The brief interaction between Choudhary and Singh has sparked discussions in political circles, given the timing and the ongoing talks about the new Cabinet structure. The expanded Cabinet, with fresh faces and important portfolios distributed among NDA allies, has been a topic of considerable debate.
