A strong Western Disturbance caused sandstorms, rain, and gusty winds in various districts of Rajasthan. The weather disruption led to darkness during the day in some areas, prompting motorists to use headlights. Trees were uprooted, and power supply was affected due to the strong winds.
The impact was significant in Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar initially, with wind speeds reaching 56 kilometers per hour. Jaipur experienced intense winds and dust storms for about 10 minutes. Sri Ganganagar faced a dust storm around 11 a.m., resembling a massive sandstorm.
Churu, Bikaner, Fatehpur, Laxmangarh, and other areas witnessed similar weather conditions. Despite the inconvenience caused, the sudden weather change offered relief from the prevailing heatwave conditions. The Meteorological Department issued Red and Orange Alerts for various districts, warning of heavy rainfall and intense weather activity.
Fresh weather warnings were issued later, with forecasts of wind speeds up to 80 kilometers per hour. The Disaster Management Department of Rajasthan cautioned about severe storm activity and high wind speeds in the affected regions. Authorities continued to monitor the evolving weather situation closely.
