Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut has criticized the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) alliance with the Shinde faction in the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) as a “betrayal.” This comes after Shrikant Shinde of the Shinde faction announced the new power-sharing arrangement with MNS.
Raut strongly opposed the alliance, stating that those who betrayed Maharashtra and Balasaheb Thackeray should not be supported. He emphasized that maintaining any ties with such individuals is unacceptable. Raut also called for accountability from MNS chief Raj Thackeray regarding the decision made by local leaders.
Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, Raut compared the Shinde group to the MIM, labeling anyone joining them as a traitor to Maharashtra. He urged Raj Thackeray to take action against the corporators aligning with the Shinde faction, emphasizing the need for party discipline.
The shifting alliances in Kalyan-Dombivli have caused a rift between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS, with Raut criticizing the opportunistic nature of politicians who prioritize power over principles. The ongoing power consolidation by the Shinde faction through alliances with smaller parties and independent corporators has further intensified the political landscape in the region.
