Sanya Malhotra’s film “Mrs” has stirred a discussion on social media about the true essence of feminism and the portrayal of women in Indian society. Celebrating its one-year anniversary, Sanya expressed gratitude to the audience for their continued support for the character of Richa. She pledged to enhance her understanding, listening skills, and portrayal of women more authentically and responsibly in future projects.

The actress shared a video on her official Instagram account showcasing the fun moments behind the scenes during the filming of the movie directed by Arati Kadav. Sanya’s emotional message online reflected on the impact of “Mrs” on viewers and her commitment to representing women sincerely on screen. The film, which premiered at various film festivals, received acclaim even before its official release.

Based on the Malayalam film “The Great Indian Kitchen,” “Mrs” premiered on ZEE5 on February 7, 2025. The story follows Richa, played by Sanya Malhotra, as she grapples with her identity amidst the challenges of married life, highlighting the struggles of balancing independence with societal expectations on marriage and gender roles.
