The Saraswati Antya Pushkaralu has started at Kaleshwaram in Telangana, marked by the Kanchi Math pontiff Sri Shankar Vijayendra Saraswati taking the inaugural holy dip. State ministers and dignitaries also participated in the sacred bathing ceremony early in the morning. The event, expected to draw 20-30 lakh devotees, is being held in Telangana for the first time.
Authorities anticipate a significant turnout for the 12-day holy gathering, where devotees can cleanse their sins by bathing at the Triveni Sangam. This confluence of the Saraswati, Godavari, and Pranahita rivers is a sacred site at Kaleshwaram. Officials have made extensive arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of devotees, providing essential services like security, medical aid, and transportation.
The district administration, led by Collector Rahul Sharma, is working diligently to facilitate a smooth and hassle-free experience for devotees during the Saraswati Antya Pushkaralu. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has emphasized the importance of observing the event with devotion and grandeur, urging devotees to take precautions against the prevailing heat. Traffic control measures have been put in place to manage the influx of worshippers.
