When Saurabh Netravalkar discovered he would play at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, memories of his teenage visits flooded back. Despite dreaming of representing India at Wankhede, he will now do so for the USA team, a momentous full-circle experience.

Netravalkar, who has excelled for the USA with 40 wickets in 41 T20Is, recalls his emotional journey from giving up cricket to becoming a key player for the USA national team. His family’s support and the upcoming match against familiar Mumbai players add to the significance of this moment.

Having transitioned from playing for India in the U19 World Cup to representing the USA, Netravalkar’s path to professional cricket was rekindled through dedication and perseverance. His balancing act between international cricket and a job in California showcases his commitment and passion for the sport.

Netravalkar’s journey epitomizes dedication and resilience, from his initial dreams of playing at Wankhede for India to now leading the USA team on the same ground. His story reflects the transformative power of hard work and determination in pursuing one’s passion for cricket.
