School students and artists in West Bengal were thrilled to receive personal letters from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after presenting him with handcrafted portraits during his rallies for the state’s two-phased Assembly election. Among the recipients was a Class six student from Siliguri and an artist who rediscovered her passion. Mayank Ghosh, the Class six student, shared his joy at receiving a letter from the Prime Minister after presenting a hand-drawn sketch to him during a campaign rally in Siliguri.
Rahul Basak, a student from Dhatrigram in Purba Bardhaman district, also received a letter after presenting a hand-drawn portrait to the Prime Minister during his campaign. Basak expressed his gratitude for the recognition, mentioning that it would inspire him to enhance his drawing skills. Artist Papiya Mondal from Purba Bardhaman’s Purbasthali village, who also presented a hand-drawn portrait, felt encouraged to pursue her passion for art following the acknowledgment.
Trishagni Banerjee from Murshidabad’s Raghunathganj conveyed her appreciation to PM Modi for acknowledging her painting. She expressed her surprise and happiness at receiving a response from the Prime Minister, stating that her family was equally delighted. The first phase of the state’s Assembly election on April 23 recorded a high voter turnout of over 93%, with the second phase scheduled for April 29 and counting on May 4.
