A 49-year-old government school teacher in Dholka town, Ahmedabad, was arrested following accusations of sexually harassing a 13-year-old student inside a school computer room. The incident reportedly occurred on June 17 at Kumar School No. 4 in the Bamanpith area.
The accused, identified as Vijaykumar Solanki, allegedly called the student to the computer room under false pretenses of handing over a key. According to the complaint, he exposed himself and attempted to assault the student, who managed to escape and report the incident.
Authorities launched an investigation after the complaint was filed, leading to the arrest of Solanki. Legal proceedings are ongoing, with charges filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
The case is part of a series of similar allegations in Gujarat’s educational institutions, emphasizing the importance of promptly reporting any suspected abuse involving children for appropriate legal action.
