Panchayati Raj Secretary Vivek Bharadwaj highlighted the significant impact of grassroots governance during an Outreach Workshop on the Atmanirbhar Panchayat Programme. He emphasized the pivotal role of panchayats in sensitizing citizens and leading coordinated efforts towards self-sufficient communities. The event, held in collaboration with the Telangana Department of Panchayati Raj, aimed to promote the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’.
Senior officials, financial institutions, and over 400 participants, including Panchayat representatives, attended the workshop in Hyderabad. Union Secretary Vivek Bharadwaj encouraged panchayat leaders to adopt innovative approaches for sustainable regional development. He underlined the importance of leaving a lasting legacy through transformative leadership.
The Atmanirbhar Panchayat Programme aims to assist eligible Gram and Block Panchayats in developing financially viable projects to enhance their revenue sources. Selected proposals will receive technical support for project development, financial closure, and collaboration with various funding sources. The initiative seeks to empower panchayats to contribute effectively to India’s progress by 2047.
