Security agencies in Ahmedabad conducted extensive searches at court complexes following bomb threat emails directed at the Gujarat High Court and the Ahmedabad Rural Court on Monday. The threats led to evacuations and the suspension of court activities. Threatening emails warning of a bomb attack were sent to the High Court in the Sola area and the rural court in Navrangpura.
Officials responded by deploying tight security at all entry points and conducting detailed inspections of the premises with bomb disposal and dog squad teams. Panic ensued within the court complexes, prompting the evacuation of judges, lawyers, staff members, and litigants as a precautionary measure.
The court buildings were cleared, and search operations were conducted floor by floor to ensure safety. Senior police officers and teams from Navrangpura police station were stationed at the site during the checks. Authorities are currently tracing the origin of the email and the sender’s identity through technical surveillance and cyber investigation.
The recent incident is part of a series of similar threats targeting major institutions in Ahmedabad in recent months. Earlier this year, the Ahmedabad Rural Court also received a threatening email warning of a bomb attack, leading to searches and temporary suspension of judicial proceedings. The Gujarat High Court has faced multiple bomb threat emails over the past year.
Several threats were recorded in 2025, including incidents in June, August, September, and October, each triggering security checks and cyber investigations before being deemed hoaxes. Investigators noted that many recent threats were sent using compromised email accounts. Last week, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested a suspect from West Bengal in connection with hoax bomb threat emails sent to institutions across Gujarat, including schools and government offices, and is exploring any potential links to the latest threats.
