Emphasizing increased security measures at the revered Khatu Shyam Temple, Sikar Superintendent of Police Praveen Nayak stated that efforts are ongoing to bolster safety arrangements at the shrine, which attracts numerous devotees annually.
Nayak clarified that reports suggesting individuals arrested in Ghaziabad had surveilled or photographed the temple are unfounded. The Sikar Police have been coordinating with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Ghaziabad, but no proof has been provided to confirm the accused had taken pictures of the temple.
Situated in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, the temple is a significant pilgrimage site in northern India, dedicated to Lord Khatu Shyam, believed to be an incarnation of Barbarika, Bhima’s grandson from the Mahabharata.
Regarding temple security, Nayak assured that the administration is actively enhancing safety protocols due to the shrine’s importance and high visitor numbers. Discussions are underway for the installation of advanced security equipment like baggage scanners to further fortify the safety measures.
