Security forces in Chhattisgarh have confirmed the identities of two Maoist cadres, ACM Pradeep alias Joga and Bhima Weko, who were eliminated during a search operation in the Kawargatta area of South Bijapur. These individuals, associated with the Pamed Area Committee, had bounties of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh on their heads, respectively, according to police officials.

The deceased were responsible for various violent acts in the Pamed Area Committee region, including the killing of Bhima Madkam, the former Sarpanch of Kawargatta Gram Panchayat. Recovered from the encounter site were weapons like an AK-47 rifle, a 9mm pistol, ammunition, explosives, and other Naxalite materials.

Security forces, including teams from DRG, Bastar Fighters, and CRPF, are conducting an extensive search operation in the area. Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Yadav mentioned that the operation was based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of Maoist cadres in the region.

Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj Pattilingam, highlighted the involvement of the deceased in multiple violent incidents and civilian murders. He emphasized the success of intelligence-based operations against Maoists, aiming to maintain peace and security in the district.

The elimination of these two notorious cadres, known for their violent activities, has brought a sense of relief and security to the local population. Security forces continue to urge remaining cadres to surrender and join mainstream life, warning of legal consequences otherwise.
