Security has been heightened in various parts of India for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations following prayers marking the end of Ramzan. Bihar’s Bhagalpur district is on alert ahead of Eid, Chaiti Chhath, and Ram Navami festivals. Special instructions have been issued to security forces and committees, with a mock drill conducted as part of preparations. Hyderabad’s Old City and Karnataka’s Mangaluru also saw tightened security measures for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers and gatherings.
In Tamil Nadu’s Madurai and Coimbatore, large congregations of Muslim worshippers gathered for special prayers. Kerala, which celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday, saw political party nominees visiting prayer venues ahead of the upcoming Assembly election. The message emphasized during these celebrations is one of peace, unity, and a harmonious society.
