Lok Bhavan and its vicinity in Bengaluru have been fortified by the police in preparation for D.K. Shivakumar’s inauguration as Chief Minister, with over 2,000 officers ensuring safety. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh will oversee security, supported by three Joint Commissioners of Police and 20 Deputy Commissioners.
Only VIPs and VVIPs with valid vehicle passes will have direct access to Lok Bhavan for the ceremony, with dignitaries advised to arrive an hour early. Vehicles without passes will be halted at Thimmaiah Circle, where special electric golf carts will transport them to the venue. Congress supporters have displayed congratulatory banners and cut-outs across the city, notably a 100-foot-tall cut-out in Sumanahalli.
As Shivakumar prepares to assume office, the route from Kempegowda International Airport to Bengaluru is adorned with welcome banners for party leaders and dignitaries. The Congress Kisan Cell Karnataka plans to present Shivakumar with a garland made of Rs 20 notes during the event.
