The self-enumeration process for the initial phase of the Census in Jaipur district will take place from May 1 to May 15, 2026. Residents can conveniently complete the process online via the official portal using a desktop computer or smartphone. Principal Census Officer and District Collector Sandesh Nayak has encouraged all residents to actively engage in the self-enumeration process to ensure accurate data submission.
He advised residents against sharing their One-Time Password (OTP) with enumerators during home visits for verification. Even after self-enumeration, an enumerator will visit households to validate the submitted data as part of the official procedure. Users will have the opportunity to review their entries on a “Preview” screen during the self-enumeration process and make necessary corrections if needed.
Once the data is “Finally Submitted,” it cannot be edited online, but any required corrections can be made during the enumerator’s household visit. The district administration has completed all essential preparations for the upcoming Census 2027 exercise. As part of the preparatory work, the Census pre-test was successfully conducted in specific zones under the Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation.
The process of “boundary freezing” and verification of administrative unit maps and lists was finalized to ensure administrative stability during the Census period. To facilitate smooth implementation, Census Cells have been set up at district and charge levels, with a significant number of enumeration blocks, enumerators, and supervisors appointed for the exercise. Training for all officials and personnel involved in the Census has been completed in phases to ensure readiness at all operational levels.
District-level training for senior officials and staff was conducted in early 2026, followed by additional training for Charge Officers and other officials. All tasks under the Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS) have been accomplished, including ID mapping, block creation, and personnel list preparation. The House Listing and Housing Census will follow the self-enumeration phase, scheduled from May 16 to June 14, 2026.
The second phase, focusing on population enumeration, is planned for February 2027 as part of the nationwide Census exercise. The District Collector has emphasized the importance of carrying out the self-enumeration and house listing processes diligently. He has urged public representatives and citizens to maximize participation and utilize the self-enumeration portal extensively for a smooth and accurate Census process.
