Senior BJP leader R. Ashoka criticized the Congress for allegedly betraying its ally, the DMK in Tamil Nadu. Ashoka expressed disappointment, stating that the Congress had abandoned the DMK after contesting elections together. He warned other INDIA bloc partners to be cautious of the Congress’s actions towards its allies.
Ashoka highlighted that there was an initial agreement to form a government post-elections, but the Congress changed its stance after the results. He accused the Congress of lacking a consistent ideology and betraying the DMK, emphasizing the importance of trust among political allies.
Regarding the Sringeri recount issue, Ashoka mentioned that Speaker U.T. Khader agreed to administer the oath to BJP MLA D.N. Jeevaraj after intervention by the Governor. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the election process once a candidate’s name is published in the official gazette.
Critiquing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Ashoka suggested that any grievances should have been addressed through legal channels earlier. He criticized the Congress for its varying stance on the Election Commission and EVMs based on election outcomes, urging leaders to maintain consistency in their statements on electoral matters.
