Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader R. Ashoka criticized Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, alleging corruption and lack of transparency in the Bengaluru garbage tender controversy. In response, Shivakumar accused Ashoka of being linked to the “garbage mafia” and engaging in jealousy-driven politics.
Ashoka defended himself, stating he represents the people’s interests and holds the government accountable as the Leader of the Opposition. He highlighted concerns over the new government’s performance and transparency, emphasizing his duty to expose scams and question dubious tenders.
The BJP leader criticized Shivakumar’s leadership, suggesting growing discontent within the Congress party. He demanded the release of a committee’s report on the garbage tender issue, questioning the government’s transparency and accountability. Ashoka called for an independent investigation into alleged irregularities in the waste management project.
