Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera underwent more than 11 hours of questioning by Assam Police at the Guwahati Crime Branch related to a case linked to a First Information Report filed by Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, the wife of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Khera, after a lengthy interrogation, left the Crime Branch office late in the evening and informed reporters that he was summoned for further questioning the next day at 9.30 a.m.
Despite the intense questioning, Khera expressed his full cooperation with the investigation team and emphasized his commitment to abiding by the law.
The case revolves around allegations made by Khera against Riniki Bhuyan Sarma regarding multiple foreign passports and financial interests abroad, leading to the filing of a complaint invoking various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The Supreme Court had earlier granted Khera anticipatory bail in the matter, safeguarding him from arrest while instructing him to assist in the investigation, a decision that Khera respected and expressed faith in the judiciary.
