Senior IAS officer Amoy Kumar was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a case involving the alleged alienation of government/Bodhan land. The ED officials interviewed him at their regional office in Hyderabad. The investigation stems from a case filed at the Maheshwaram Police Station, with the ED exploring potential money laundering aspects of the land transaction.
Amoy Kumar, currently serving in the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department, had previously been the District Collector of Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri districts. While not directly accused in the FIR, his actions related to the Dharani portal and property registrations under restricted categories are under scrutiny. The case originated from a private complaint filed in court, alleging fraudulent acquisition of land rights and manipulation of revenue records in Nagaram village.
The ED’s probe into the matter has uncovered a scheme where government land was falsely claimed as ancestral property, leading to its illegal sale through forged documents and manipulated records. Middlemen, in collusion with government officials, facilitated the transaction by altering revenue records and bypassing legal restrictions. The ED’s Hyderabad Zonal Office had seized assets and incriminating evidence during searches conducted in Hyderabad last year.
