Senior IPS officer Vishwas Nangare Patil has taken over as the new Police Commissioner of Nagpur, directly transferring from his previous position at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). In his new role, he has emphasized that ensuring the safety and security of women and children is his foremost priority.
Addressing a recent controversy surrounding his attendance at a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, Nangare Patil firmly defended his actions, stating that his participation did not breach any civil service regulations. He expressed his deep respect for all individuals and affirmed his unwavering commitment to upholding the values of the Indian Constitution as a police officer.
Nangare Patil highlighted the significance of Nagpur as the home of Deekshabhoomi and emphasized his adherence to the principles of B R Ambedkar. He clarified that his participation in various community events, including the RSS gathering, is a common practice aimed at engaging with different social groups and citizens. The officer underscored that attending such events is integral to his approach to public policing and community interaction.
