Sethu FC showcased a dominant performance, securing a 4-1 victory against Garhwal United FC in a 2025-26 Indian Women’s League (IWL) match held at the National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata. The game saw a goalless first half, but Sethu FC unleashed a remarkable 10-minute spree in the second half to secure the win.

The turning point came in the 52nd minute when Dhurga P. scored the opening goal, followed by Malavika P. doubling the lead in the 60th minute. Lynda Kom Serto extended the lead further with her eighth goal of the season in the 62nd minute. Nirmala Devi Phanjoubam added a fourth goal in the 74th minute before Garhwal United managed a consolation goal through Esther Tingjoukim in the 82nd minute.

This victory marked Sethu FC’s fourth consecutive win, maintaining their unbeaten streak in five matches and securing the second spot in the league standings with 16 points from seven games. On the other hand, Garhwal United FC faced their fourth defeat in the tournament, placing them in eighth position as the initial phase of the league concluded.

The first half witnessed a tense battle with both teams unable to break the deadlock. Despite close attempts from Sethu’s Lynda Kom and Abigail Antwi hitting the woodwork, the teams entered halftime on level terms. However, Sethu FC’s strong comeback in the second half shifted the momentum in their favor, leading to a decisive victory.
