Seven people lost their lives, and five others sustained injuries in two distinct road accidents in Andhra Pradesh early Friday morning. In Guntur district, three individuals died, and three were injured after a private travel bus collided with the car they were traveling in near Ankireddypalem. The deceased, identified as Venkaiah (70), Susheela (64), and Mahesh (28), belonged to Suryapet district in Telangana.
In a separate incident in Nandyal district, four individuals were killed near Nallagatla in Allagadda mandal when a speeding car struck a divider and crashed into a private travel bus from the opposite direction. The four occupants of the car died on the spot, while two others sustained injuries and were taken to the government hospital in Nandyal. The passengers on the travel bus, en route to Puducherry from Hyderabad, were unharmed, and alternative travel arrangements were made for them.
The deceased in the Nandyal accident were residents of Hyderabad, identified as Gunde Rao, Sravan, Narasimha, and Bunny. Sai and Siddharth, undergoing treatment in Nandyal hospital, were also part of the group returning to Hyderabad from Tirupati. Gunde Rao and his companions were involved in a catering business in the Nizampet area of Hyderabad.
Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy expressed sorrow over the tragic incidents, extending condolences to the affected families. He instructed officials to ensure the best possible care for the victims and emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to prevent accidents. Ministers for Agriculture K. Atchenaidu and Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy also conveyed their condolences over the accidents.
