Seychelles President Patrick Herminie wrapped up his visit to India by arriving in New Delhi after engagements in Chennai and Mumbai. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel greeted him at the airport. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson mentioned that President Herminie had productive meetings in Chennai and Mumbai with key stakeholders from various sectors.
President Herminie’s visit to India was at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a five-day state visit. He is set to meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with PM Modi on bilateral and international matters of interest. In Mumbai, he met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to explore collaboration opportunities, especially in port-led development and coastal management.
During the India-Seychelles Business Forum in Chennai, President Herminie emphasized sectors like digital technologies, renewable energy, tourism, higher education, and electric mobility for collaboration. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) organized the forum, including a CEOs’ Roundtable where Indian industry leaders engaged with the Seychellois delegation.
