Isak Malsawmtluanga, facing adversity after losing both parents at a young age, almost gave up weightlifting. With support from his coach and relatives, he clinched the men’s 60kg gold at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026. Battling a back injury, Isak’s determination led him to secure the gold with a total lift of 235kg.
Despite losing his father in a bike accident in 2018, Isak continued his weightlifting journey. His mother’s cancer diagnosis further tested him, but his uncle and aunt provided crucial support. Training hard, Isak won medals at various events, showcasing his resilience and talent.
Isak’s uncle, a constant pillar of strength, has been by his side through thick and thin. Overcoming personal tragedies and physical challenges, Isak’s dedication and perseverance paid off at the Khelo India Tribal Games. With his family’s unwavering support, he emerged victorious, proving his mettle in the sport.
