In a dominant display, Shafali Verma’s unbeaten 79 off 42 balls propelled India Women to an eight-wicket win against Sri Lanka Women in the third T20I. With Renuka Singh Thakur’s 4-21 and Deepti Sharma’s 3-18 restricting Sri Lanka to 112/7, Shafali’s aggressive innings, comprising 11 fours and three sixes, sealed India’s 3-0 series lead.

Despite early setbacks with the dismissals of Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali’s aggressive approach ensured India’s victory. Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten 21 further solidified India’s win, marking their fourth consecutive T20I series triumph over Sri Lanka. Shafali’s innings, starting cautiously before accelerating, included a flurry of boundaries and sixes.

Shafali’s innings was a mix of caution and aggression, as she initially played out three dot balls before unleashing an onslaught on the Sri Lankan bowlers. Despite losing partners early on, Shafali’s aggressive strokeplay, including lofted shots and powerful drives, guided India to a comfortable victory. Her quick fifty in just 24 balls set the tone for India’s successful chase, culminating in another convincing win.
