Shahbaz Ahmed and Karan Lal showcased outstanding all-round performances, guiding their teams to comfortable wins in the Bengal T20 League Season 3 matches at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In the first game of the day, Shahbaz’s impressive 4/15 with the ball and a quick 31 off 18 deliveries helped Shrachi Rarh Tigers defeat Sobisco Smashers Malda by five wickets. Following that, Karan’s brilliant 53 off 29 balls and 4/12 bowling figures powered Servotech Siliguri Strikers to a commanding 90-run victory over Murshidabad Kings.
Karan, supported by Sudip Chatterjee’s 50 off 41, provided a strong start for Siliguri Strikers, posting a total of 152/9 in their 20 overs. In response, Murshidabad struggled, losing wickets consistently to be bowled out for just 62 runs in 12 overs. Apart from Karan’s stellar performance, Ishan Porel’s 3/11 with the ball stood out, while Md Shami, Kaushik Maity, and Vishal Bhati also contributed with a wicket each for Siliguri Strikers.
In the first match, Sobisco Smashers Malda, after being put in to bat, managed to score 117 runs in 19.4 overs, with Vikas Singh Sr top-scoring with 33 off 22 balls. Chasing the target, Rarh Tigers comfortably reached 118/5 in 16 overs, securing a convincing victory.
Shahbaz’s exceptional bowling display of 4/15, supported by Rohit Kumar and Dipanjan Mukherjee’s two wickets each, kept the opposition under pressure throughout the innings. Shahbaz continued his stellar performance with the bat, contributing a quick 31 off 18 balls, while Saurabh Kumar Singh added a steady 29 off 30 deliveries to guide Shrachi Rarh Tigers to success.
