Ayush Malik, a resident of Shamli, who had converted to Islam, has now chosen to return to Hinduism. In a video circulating on social media, Ayush is seen performing Hindu rituals and expressing his desire to reunite with his family. He stated that his decision to revert to Sanatan Dharma was driven by his parents’ emotional distress and his wish to be with his family.
Ayush’s father, Devaraj Malik, confirmed his son’s return to Hinduism, emphasizing that the choice was entirely Ayush’s. The move follows the recent arrest of physiotherapist Chandni Qureshi and her father by Uttar Pradesh Police, prompted by a complaint from Devaraj Malik under the state’s anti-conversion law.
The complaint alleges that Ayush, a pharmacy graduate, met Chandni in 2018 during medical treatment and was later influenced to convert to Islam by her and her family. Despite claims of a conversion ceremony in Delhi, no marriage certificate has been found by the police. Ayush had reportedly embraced Islamic practices post-conversion, including daily prayers and changes in appearance.
