Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar expressed his views on the capabilities of his former colleagues Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, stating that while he acknowledges their leadership skills from working closely with them, the current NCP leadership may have a differing perspective on them. The ongoing developments within the NCP, including the exclusion of Patel and Tatkare from the party’s national executive by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, are being viewed as a move to marginalize them.

Tatkare recently met with Sharad Pawar in a non-political context to inquire about the veteran politician’s well-being amidst reports of internal discord within the party. Additionally, the NCP faced another setback as senior leader Anand Paranjape resigned from the party, reportedly due to being overlooked for a vacant Rajya Sabha seat.

Sharad Pawar also highlighted the need for a national leaders’ meeting, emphasizing the seriousness of the current situation in the country. He criticized the conduct of political leaders, urging them to choose their words carefully and refrain from using inappropriate language, particularly in reference to the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi.
