Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor shared his thoughts on the Trinamool Congress split, suggesting possible inducements or threats from the ruling party. He criticized the shift of rebel Trinamool MPs to support the NDA, highlighting a lack of political principles in India.

Tharoor expressed disappointment in the 20 Trinamool MPs aligning with the NDA after years of criticizing them, emphasizing a decline in political integrity. Following the Trinamool Congress’s electoral setback in West Bengal, internal divisions emerged, starting with MLAs rejecting the Leader of the Opposition.

Amidst the turmoil, several Trinamool MPs defected to the Nationalist Citizens Party to back the NDA, prompting Tharoor to stress the importance of working for the nation’s welfare over personal convictions. He urged politicians to view opponents as adversaries, not enemies, and focus on advancing the country’s interests through constructive collaboration.
