Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor expressed optimism about the increasing favor towards the United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala. Campaigning for UDF candidate Pazhakulam Madhu in the Ranni Assembly constituency, Tharoor noted a strong wave of support building up for the alliance. He highlighted concerns about youth migration from Kerala, emphasizing the need to create opportunities that retain young people in the state.
Tharoor stressed the importance of a UDF government for Kerala’s future, particularly focusing on addressing issues that lead to youth leaving the state. He outlined the alliance’s commitment to providing job opportunities and enhancing living standards to prevent the need for young people to seek employment abroad. Tharoor also endorsed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s five-point guarantee, aiming for transformative societal change.
Acknowledging Gandhi’s influence on the electoral landscape, Tharoor mentioned the desire among voters for a shift in governance and leadership. He pointed out the public’s fatigue with past mismanagement and corruption, emphasizing the need for a new vision and dynamic leadership in the state. The UDF is aiming to leverage public dissatisfaction in the closely contested Ranni constituency to secure electoral success.
