Congress MP Shashi Tharoor supported India’s involvement in the West Asia conflict, emphasizing the country’s positive engagement with regional leaders. He dismissed claims from the Opposition that Pakistan’s mediation reflects poorly on India’s foreign policy. Tharoor highlighted Pakistan’s strategic interests in the conflict, contrasting them with India’s stance.

Tharoor stressed the importance of peace in the region, stating that India would benefit from stability regardless of the mediator. He underlined India’s diplomatic efforts, noting the ongoing engagement of top Indian officials with regional leaders. Tharoor expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the conflict for the benefit of all involved.

Highlighting India’s interest in maintaining peace, Tharoor emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of the situation. He pointed out that peace is crucial for India due to the impact of the conflict on energy supplies and Indian citizens in Gulf nations. Tharoor also mentioned India’s broader role in global diplomacy as a responsible stakeholder.

Tharoor acknowledged India’s active role in the region, with key ministers and the Prime Minister engaging in diplomatic efforts. He commented on a social media post by Pakistan’s Prime Minister, suggesting US involvement in its drafting. Tharoor criticized Pakistan’s mediation efforts, contrasting his party’s view with the Opposition’s stance on the matter.
