Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur recently took to social media to delve into the intricate relationship between the heart and the mind. In a reflective post, he pondered on the significance of emotions, love, and the scientific basis of human feelings. Kapur raised questions about whether the heart exerts a more profound influence than the mind in shaping emotional encounters.
He shared an image on Instagram with the text “Falling in love,” accompanied by a caption expressing various emotional states related to the heart. Kapur contemplated the physiological responses associated with falling in love, such as the release of neurotransmitters like Dopamine, Serotonin, and Endorphins. The filmmaker highlighted emerging evidence suggesting that the heart communicates more with the mind through the Vagus nerve than vice versa, emphasizing the heart’s crucial role in emotional intelligence.
Shekhar Kapur is currently engaged in the production of the highly anticipated sequel “Masoom: The New Generation,” which will star his daughter, Kaveri Kapur. Additionally, he has teamed up with renowned composer A.R. Rahman for an upcoming project, building on their successful collaborations in the past, including projects like “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” and musical theater productions such as “Bombay Dreams” and “Why?.”
