Mumbai August 7 (IANS) Actress Shilpa Shinde has said she missed Bollywood superstar Salman Khan during her stint on the reality show, Lock Upp.
She said that she felt he would have taken a firm stand against the “age shaming” and “work shaming” she allegedly faced inside the reality show.
During a media interaction after the show’s finale, Shilpa was asked if there was anyone she missed inside the Lock Upp house.
Responding to the question, the actress said, “I have missed him (Salman Khan) at many places. Because very frankly, a lot of things have not happened in telecast, the way I was talked to. And I am talking about Shivangi Joshi.”
She further alleged that she was subjected to “age shaming” and “work shaming” inside the house.
“Age shaming, work shaming… and I remembered that the way Salmanji used to stand for those things, I missed that here,” she said.
Shilpa, however, clarified that she did not feel host Farah Khan was biased towards any contestant.
“Whereas I could see Farah ji, that she likes me, there was no such partiality. But there is only one hour telecast, and it runs for 24 hours. So that was very insulting.”
She went on to question the message such incidents send to viewers.
“After that, you are talking that you are playing a very good game. So you are giving this message to the youth of today, that talking to someone rudely, and answering in this way, your good game is visible. I felt very bad about that.”
Praising Salman Khan, Shilpa concluded, “And I really missed him. That no one can be like him. No one can.”
For the uninitiated, Shilpa and Salman share a long association through the reality show Bigg Boss 11, where the actress emerged as the winner under Salman’s hosting.
During the season, Salman was often seen stepping in to address conflicts inside the house and calling out contestants over their conduct.
Talking about Lock Upp, Shilpa finished as the fourth runner-up of the second season of the show, which concluded on August 5 with Shreya Kalra lifting the winner’s trophy, Shivangi Joshi emerging as the first runner-up, and Yogesh finishing as the second runner-up.
