The Shiromani Akali Dal criticized the Punjab AAP government for its handling of the sacrilege issue, particularly regarding the Behbal Kalan firing case. Despite four chargesheets already submitted, the government initiated a new Special Investigation Team (SIT), raising questions about its approach.

Akali Dal leader Parambans Singh Romana expressed concern over the government’s focus on the Behbal Kalan case while neglecting actions against Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the Burj Jawahar Singh and Bargari sacrilege cases. Romana highlighted the government’s media-centric approach, suggesting it as a diversion tactic from its shortcomings.

Romana emphasized the need for concrete actions rather than theatrical maneuvers, urging the government to address the numerous sacrilege cases in Punjab. He criticized the government for allegedly politicizing the issue and failing to take decisive steps against key figures involved in the sacrilege incidents.
