Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS President Raj Thackeray led a ‘victory march’ at Vasant Desai Chowk near Shivaji Park in Mumbai. This march followed the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister due to nationwide student protests over exam irregularities. The procession also saw the participation of several NCP leaders.

Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant criticized the NDA, accusing them of fostering hatred and arrogance. He highlighted the divisive atmosphere created by the government. Another Shiv Sena MP, Anil Desai, emphasized that the student movement aimed at broader education system reforms beyond just a minister’s resignation. He stressed the long-standing issues in the education sector and their societal impact, including on unemployment.

MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande praised the younger generation for fearlessly standing up to the government during the agitation. NCP MLA Rohit Pawar noted the unity among people, especially the youth, in demanding justice for students. He highlighted the significance of solidarity in achieving success and sending a powerful message on upholding democracy and the Constitution.

Participants in the march expressed their joy over the movement’s outcome, celebrating the students’ victory. They underscored the importance of citizens holding the government accountable when dissatisfied. Additionally, NCP leader Fahad Ahmad condemned the police’s treatment of protesters during the agitation, calling for accountability and justice for the students.
