Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray and MNS founder Raj Thackeray will jointly hold a press conference to declare their alliance for the upcoming BMC elections. The press conference, scheduled for noon on Wednesday, will formalize their partnership for the polls in 29 municipal corporations on January 15, with results to be announced on January 16.
Sanjay Raut, a key figure in Shiv Sena, hinted at the alliance through a social media post without specifying the agenda. The collaboration aims to challenge the BJP and Shiv Sena in the elections. Raut confirmed the unity between the two parties, emphasizing the joint efforts of their workers on the ground.
The alliance, termed “Manomilan,” was solidified after discussions on seat-sharing arrangements. Raut assured that the alliance is a reality, with the final details being worked out. The Thackeray brothers have reached a consensus, ensuring coordination across various municipal bodies.
Discussions are ongoing with NCP leader Jayant Patil to ensure coordination within the MVA framework. While talks with the Congress are closed for now, Shiv Sena remains open to future cooperation. The alliance between Shiv Sena and MNS is seen as a significant development in Maharashtra politics, consolidating the Marathi vote bank.
