Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray accused the BJP of misappropriating donations meant for the Ayodhya Ram Temple. He announced a statewide protest starting with a ‘Ram Raksha’ demonstration in Mumbai’s Dadar area on July 5.
Thackeray, speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, alleged that the BJP had taken money donated by devotees at the Ram Temple and demanded transparency. The protest is scheduled to take place near the Hanuman Temple at Dadar Kabutarkhana from 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Thackeray invited all citizens, irrespective of party affiliations, to join the protest against the alleged mismanagement of funds at the Lord Ram’s temple. He emphasized the importance of upholding the values of Hindutva and Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology during the demonstration.
The Shiv Sena’s strong stance comes amid internal political challenges, including the defection of six party MPs and the departure of a close aide. Thackeray highlighted the historical significance of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and criticized the BJP’s current approach to the temple funds.
Thackeray also raised concerns about the potential misuse of temple donations for political purposes, suggesting a connection to efforts to destabilize opposition parties. He warned the ruling party against further exploiting the sentiments of the Hindu community and vowed to continue the protest movement statewide.
