Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray announced that Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of Shiv Sena, will meet and engage with students protesting in Delhi. The party will offer legal support to students facing police notices or legal actions. The move comes after students were injured in clashes with the police during protests against the NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar.
Uddhav Thackeray plans to personally meet the students to understand their grievances and position. Aaditya Thackeray emphasized Shiv Sena’s consistent support for the student movement and their rightful demands. He mentioned Uddhav Thackeray’s early backing of the protest led by environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk.
Aaditya Thackeray stressed that Shiv Sena stands by democratic protests and accused the government of responding with repression instead of dialogue. He highlighted Uddhav Thackeray’s visit to the protesting students in Delhi as a continuation of the party’s commitment to supporting such movements. The party has launched an email address to assist students facing legal issues and has called on lawyers to provide free legal aid to affected students.
